1,, 1w, n". Walter Boyle of Cornwall sent a parcel through the Red cm- to Europe. The anvil contained : child’: dress. Ind in the pocket of the dress Mrs. Boyle placed 3 note with her name and address. In November of 1948. or five years later, she received l letter from lilrs. A. Zlellnka of Eng- land, stating lhe got it for her 8- year-old daughter as an exchange from the Women‘: Voluntary Ser- vice. Since then Mrs. Boyle ha: received a second letter from he: overseas correspondent. Both letters arc now in my possession; and. with the editor's permission, I am going to quote from these letters as l believe reader: will find them most interesting.

The first letter read: ln part: “Dear Madam:

"I am writing to you because I found your address ln the pocket of the red frock made by you. - - - My husband works in a. cider factory and we llve in the Polish Camp be- cause it ls very difficult to find any place to live in properly.

“The little frock made by you flis my daughter very well. She is elght and a hnlf now, and has long blond plalts. Enclosed you will find the child's photo, If you like I wlll write you again telling you some- lhing about our Vagabond life since we left Poland.

"Best wishes, Mrs. A. Zlellnka."

The second letter is dated March , 1949.

"Dear Mrs. Waller Boyle:

"I received your second letter yes- terday. The first l have got two months ago. Pardon me for not re- plying to you till today. I have been ill. Thank you for your two letters, they are lovely both.

"l was greatly moved when I read about your dearest Blfl Y0“ lost. How old she was? And what was the cause of her death?

"At the time of my daughter's birth, Poland was occupied by ihe Russians who murdered my hus- band. I was taken by force with my baby and my sister and sent to Russia, where we starved.
