The regular monthly meeting of me Emyvale W. I., met at the home of Mrs. Maurice Mccloskcy on May 4th. The meeting opened by singing the Institute ode. Roll call was answered by twelve mem- bers. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and adopted. correspondence was read. The various committees gave their re- ports and new ones were appoint- "; as follows: Sick. Eleven members responded; all members being present. Members also wel- comed a new member. The minutes of last meeting were read and ap- proved. Mrs. William Chandler and Miss Ann Mac.Phail were named to collect for the Red cross and ms, Hicks to get blood donors.
The Treasurer was instructed to my all t tanding bills and to pay Mrs. Carver. the Music teach- er. Woo.

Th! resuiar monthly meeting of Winsloe North Women's Institute met at the home of Mrs. James Cudmore on May let. The meet. in: opened with the singing of Old Black Joe", followed by re- peating Creed in unison. Ten members answered roll call with a congratulation card. The minutes oi the previous meeting were read. approved and signed. The correspondence was read and discussed. It was moved and seconded that 5.00 be given to the Salvation Army and 32.00 to the P.E. I. Drama Association. The school committee had no re- Port. The sick committee reported no calls made. New committees appointed: School (3 months). Mrs. Stanley Younker; Sick (3 months), Mrs. Albert Younker, Miss Winnie Cudmo e.
Eight suuseiptions to the "In- stitute News" were taken. The June meeting was invited to the home of Mrs. Claude Craswell. The lunch committee: Mrs. Amett Shaw, Mrs. Stanley Shaw, and Mrs. Nelson Stevenson. The col- lection for the evening amounted to 88.27. Program committee for June. Mrs. Nelson Stevenson. A contest. , " C by Mrs. Walter Roberts. was won by Mrs. Stanley Younker.
The business section of the meeting closed with "The King." A measuring party then took place; Mrs. Stanley Shaw and Mrs. Claude Craswell tied for first place. while t.ha'consolatlon was won by Mrs. Alton Younke . A dainty lunch was served by the hotess and committee in charge.

Roll call was responded to by twenty-four members. corres- pondence was read and discussed.
It was decided to send 36.00 to the Salvation Amy. Plans were made for a social evening in the school the last week in MEY-
It was decided to invite one of the neighboring institutes to the June meeting. Bills were passed in and paid. Reports of the com- mittees were then beard and new ones appointed. Sick and Program -Mrs. Mrytle Peters, Mrs. Artie Newsome. Lunch - Mrs. Joseph Wadman. Mrs. Fred heard. Mrs. Kenneth Cameron, Mrs. Donald MacDonald. Mrs. Lester MacWil- lisms kindly invited membe to her home for the next meeting.
The meeting closed with "God Save the King", after which a dainty lunch was served by the hostess. assisted by the committee in charge. Collection 81.45.
STANIIOPI W. 1.
Mrs. Harry Macnaughlin was hostess to the members of the Women's Institute on" May let. The president took charge of the meeting, which was opened by singing the Ode. followed by the Creed repeated in unison. Sixteen members answered the roll call by an exchange of seeds and plant slips.
The minutes of the last meeting were read, approved and signed.
The sick committee gave their report. and there was nothing to report from the school committee. New committees appointed were as follows: Sick. Mrs. Reggie Ross and Mrs. John Mlsener: school. Mrs. Malcolm Campbell and Mrs. Wal lhrshali.
Correspondence was read and discussed. and it was decided to cont:-ibutepsttoo to the salvation Arssu and 05.00 to the Red Ci-on Society. A cheque for 02.00 was received as a Government grant. A resolution to be sent to the committee for discussion was car-
ried on a motion.
It was decided to continue work on the quilt during the month.

The sinking at the National Anthem brought this part of the meeting to a close. after which an auction sale of various articleswas held. with Mrs. Louis Marshall as a capable auctioneer. -
A delicious lunch was served by the hostsss. and a social hour on- ioyed.

Mrs. George Waits was hosteu for the May meeting of the Maple Leaf Institute of Traveller's Rest. with the president, Mrs. John Mnrchbank presiding.
Several items of correspondence were read by the secretary. who circulated Women's Institute News.
On motion of Mrs. Wm. I-Ieffell it was voted that Miss Emmeline Marchbank be given a Life Mem- bership. Motion was carried un- imimously. Mrs. Roy Walker will supervise the distribution of cards for the annual collection of the Salvation Army. A request for blood donors in the district is asked for. It is hoped a. good number will answer to the call of such agnoble cause.
An enjoyable social period fol- lowed the meeting, when Mrs. Clarence Marchbank conducted the program. Refreshments were serv- ed by Mrs. George Waite. who was assisted in sewing by Mrs. John Marchbank.
FIIEDEIIICTON W. I.
The regular meeting of Fred- erlcton W. 1., which met at the home of Mrs. Hyatt l-laslam. May 8th. opened by singing the Ode and repeating the Creed. The Blanket Committee reported that woollens for 15 more blankets had been shipped. The teacher reported that the Atlas had been received. A new desk and chair for school was discussed and the teacher was asked to find out
about Government Grant on same. A committee consisting of Mrs. Wm. Weeks, Mrs. Judson
Rnckham and Mrs. Miller Steven- son were appolnted to see about prices, etc.
Mrs. N. A. Cutcliffe reported thnt Rev. Mr. Richardson had held service in school at which testament: from the Gideon So- ciety were presented. The Sick Committee reported one call. New committees appointed were: Sick. Mrs. Wm. Weeks and Mrs. N. A. Cutcliffe. School. Mrs. Harry Weeks and Mrs. Hyatt Haslam. The delegates to the T. B. Lea- gue gave a very interesting report. stressing in particular the sale of seals as more money was requir- ed next year. Bills amounting to S1550 were. on motion. paid. The correspondence was then read by the secretary.
The following were appointed to collect for Salvation Army:- Mrs. Frnnk Cutcliffe, Mrs. Roy Weeks. Mrs. Eldred Weeks and Mrs. Hyatt Haslam.
It was moved. seconded and carried that the secretary send for a new Minute Book. Mrs. N. A. Cutcliffe, Mrs. Harry Weeks and Mrs. Hyatt Haslam were ap- pointed to see about getting a play from another district. each member and anyone interested to make 3 lbs. sugar into candy.
Next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. N. A. Cutcllffe. Refreshment and Entertainment Committee.-Hostess. Mrs. Clinton Glydon and Mrs. Miller Steven- son. Roll call-Sing. Say or Pay. Meeting closed with "The King" after which lunch was served.

On Tuesday evening May 1, Mrs. Lloyd Lodrerby entertained the Hamilton w. 1. 'I'he preside:-n.l Mrs. David Ramsey occupied the chair. Mee-ting pened by re- peating the Creed. Twelve mem- bers answered roll call. Two visitors were prcsuit.
The executive reported plans for district convention July 4 in Sea View hail. Following the re- ports of the sick, school and fin- ance committees the wrrespon- dence was read. Canvsssers were appointed for Red Shield Drive. Mrs. Jss. Craig moved and Mrs. Dun Morrison seconded all bills be paid.
Meeting adjourned. Mrs. Dan Morison, Mrs. George Crozier. Mrs. Lloyd Lockerby served re- freshments during the social hour which brought the meeting to a close.
81'. PETERRB LAKE W. I.
The women of St. Peter's Lake Women's Institute met at the home of Mrs. John Gallant for their regular monthly meeting on April 30th. with twenty members and three visitors present. Meet- ing opened with the chorus of "The Maple Leaf Forever". fol- lowed by "Collect for Club Wo- men" in unison. Roll call was an- swered by exchange of newer seeds. Minutes of previous meet- ing were read, approved and Illn- ed. Collection amounted to Jim. Meeting opened for business.
Committees were then heard from. Sick committee gave their report of visiting the sick. and a bill of si.85 was paid for fruit for seme. Also school committee gave a report of visiting the school. It was moved and seconded that needed necessities be purchased for the school, such as two yard sticks, toilet paper and dust-bane.
New committees were appointed for the following month. Sick: Miss Theresa Macbougall and Mrs. nuthven MacDonald: pro- gram. Mrs. Ruthven Mscbonstl and Mrs. Gordon Maclwen. Cor- respondence was mad and it was moved and seconded to donate 02.00 to the Mmical Festival. It was also decided that each mem- ber pay il0.cents toward donation to Salvation Army at next meet- ing. The secretary gave a report of the amount of 05010 proceeds

the school on April llth. also of the amount of 304.30. proceeds of dance held in the school on April 24th. The amount from both dances.totalled 8123.80.
The program for the evening consisted of a contest put on by Mrs. lllmer Maczwen, won byMrs. Vernon Anderson; also bingo put on by Mrs. John J. Mccormic, won by Mrs. Joseph McLeilan.
Next meeting to be held at the home of Mrs. Ituthren MacDon- ald. Roll call is to be answered by a measuring frolic. Meeting closed by singing "God save the King", followed by a delicious lunch by the hostess.

The regular monthly meeting of New Glasgow W. I., was held in the class room of the school on Monday evening. May 7th. Meet- lng opened by singing the Ode. followed by repeating the Creed in unison. Roll call was respond- ed to by eleven members by ex- changing bulibs. slips and seeds. Reports of committees then fol- lowed. Nerw committees are as follows: School, Mrs. C. S. Dlngwell and Mrs. George Dick- leson; Sick, Miss Ella Sample and Mrs. Melvin Macbeod: Lunch. Mrs. Morton Larkin and Mrs. Earl Housion: Programme. Mrs. Elbert Hill and Mrs. A. B. Stevenson. Red Cross collectors were then appointed to canvass the district.
A very inttercstlng paper on agriculture. prepared by Mrs. Melvin MacLeod was then given after which a vote of thanks was extended to Mrs. MacLeod, Miss Lynette Brown read a poem on "Spring Ploughing."
Correspondence was read and discussed. Mrs. Elmer MacDonald invited members to her home for the June meeting. roll call to be responded to by naming the place of your birth and an in- ierestlng fact about it. Mrs. Elbert Hill to prepare paper on Citizen- ship for next meeting.
Collection amounted to one dollar, one member paying dues. Sale of bazaar articles then fol- lowed. re-maind'tr of articles to be sold at next meeting. Meet- ing closed with the National An- them.
