Lefty McAleer became the sec- ond itcher to win two games in the lty League Sunday when he came through with the lowest hit pitching job of the season as he was rationing out five hits to the Legion over the nine-inning route. McAleer is a handy hurler to have around as he is thrives on work-the more he pitches the better he gets-as the Legion batters can testify. A few shifts in the infield worked won- ders with the Anchors‘ fielding and they presented their tightest inner defence yet in the weekend game. The Legion continue to got behind in the early innings by committing costly errorts with runners in scoring position.

Sir,—I wonder what the town is coming to in regards to the above sport. We are only able ‘.0 raise three teams and I may state that not one of the players will ever improve themselves in the game as they have everything against them.

The two items listed are against the players and makes the game very uninteresting and I also wonder how many of the players

yet the umpire is always wrong.

Charlottetown has an idea that they are going to have a team in the Maritime competition but be- lieve you me it will be far better not to as the players are hardly" ever two games in the one posi- tlon and they never know who is going to be beside them unti-l they go to play, which does not tend to give confidence to efher.

It may be news to you, Mr. Ed- itor, that ten days ago a gentle- man who has at least a speaking acquaintance with the manage- ment of the Montreal Royals saw part c-f a game but made no com- ment and left town next morning and you can make a guess that some player may have packed his grip by this time if anything suit- able had caught his eye. So I re- peat nobody can play ball under these conditions.

Here is a suggestion. Let us forget about a Maritime trip this year and get the teams to play a game or two and give the pro- ceeds to the Windsor Relief Fund who are at the present time more needing financial hel than any other persons in our ear neigh- borhood. Think it over boys.
