NEW YORK, March i7 -— (GP) —'I‘he National Hockey League's Stanley Cup playoffs will open March 25 in Montreal between the League champion Canadians and the third-place Boston Bruins, pres- ident Cl-rrence Campbell announ- ced today after a meeting here of the Board of Governors.

Dates for the playoff “A" series were settled. Campbell said. but the "B" series between the second and fourth place clubs will have to be decided later due to the close- nes of the race for fourth place between New York Ritingers and Detroit Red Wings.
