United Church In Ontario Favors Women In Courts

TORONTO (CP) - The Toronto centre presbytery of the United Church of Canada Tuesday night) approved a motion to give deacon- esses a place in the government and courts of the church.

The move would constitute a major change in the governing body of the church. Wt would allow members of the deaconesses order to form part of the two church. bodies.

Approval of the suggestion must come from two - thirds of the church's presbyteries before heing presented to the ' council for action.
