P.E.1. National Park amass- ed the largest number of visit- ors to any national park in the country in 1961. with a total of 952.718 people visiting the park during the season.

Last year was the first time wher an actual count of visitors to the park was made. Previous- ly, the number of visitors was estimated. In 1961 automatic traffic counters were employed, and the most up-to-date evalua- ting methods were used by en- gineers of the highways. divis- ion of the federal department of public works, who carried out the survey for the park super- intendent.
