The laughter of the two. girls was suddenly cut short by the entrance of the old housekeeper.

“Good Lord!” gasped the old woman, aclding up her hands in dismay, and staring with all her might at the slim, graceful figure that wheeled around from the mirror. “Oh, Lord, if she hain’t got on her weddin’ gown an’ all the fixin’s! May the saints preserve Us from the unlucky omen! Oh, poor lamb —poor lamb! Take ’em off, quick!”
