Mr. J. A. Rodd, director of Fish Culture finds a great improve- ment over last year in the work being done on the Island now.

Mr. Rodd has already completed supervisory work in Nova Sootia and, Cape Breton Island and New Brunswick in this field.

A hatchery for salmon and speck- led trout eggs at Kelly's Pond. Southport, has been establshed under Mr. Allison Tait. Ponds at Cardigan Head are used for rear- ing the fry taken frcm Kelly's Pond. Here too are hatched rain- bow trout to maintain the stock in Pisquld and Olenfinnan Lakes, which/are two of the five lakes in the Maritimes where this species may be found.
