class prizes aud diplomas at. the Provincial Exhibitions of this Provizee for her exhibits in Fine Arts; and last year her Paintings were exhibited at the National Exhibition of Washineton Territory, United States, where first honors and a diploma. was awarded her. Mrs Irviog has now in this city a splendid élass, attended by young isdies who are giving evidence of high culture, and whose performances reflect the highest credit on their Teacher, for whom they have mani fested their great regard by making her the recipient of this magnificent. gift. +>

Last evening, in St. Patrick’s Hall, the first of a series of Exutertainments, in aid of |

the poor, was given under the auspices of St Vincent de Paul Society. The audience was very large, and the different performers, not- withstanding their short preparation, acquit- ted themselves admirably. The amount realized was $35.00, which, considering the small admission of ten cents, was very good.
