WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Of- ficials of the United States Wed- nesday described the Icelandic Parliament's resolution calling for withdrawal of American troops from Icela.cl as "an undesirable but not wholly unexpected develop- merit."

Under terms of the bilateral agreement. pursuant to the North Atlantic Treaty. the United States has stationed troops at a strategic air base at Keflavik since 1951.
