' In the Supreme Court yeeterdli before Mr. Justice J. G. Tweedy. the case of Albert Edward Melntyn of Mt. Stewart. on appeal from the sentence of Magistrate Gilbert A. Gaudet. was heard md sentence was reduced from 30 days in jail to a fine of 530. or 30 dayli T110 offence was that of obstructing ., police officer.

The appeal of Oliver Sterling smith who had received A similar sentence for a like offence was also heard and the sentence reduced to 3 fine of S30. or Zitldays.

Mr. Allison Giliis represented the appellant in both cases, Mr. J. P. Nicholson for the Crown.

In the appeal from conviction under the Excise Act of Loyola Peehan of St. Stewart. by Magis- trate Gilbert A. Gaudet. the ap- peal was dismissed and sentence confirmed. Mr. Lester O'Donnell appeared for the eppellant. and Mr J. P. Nicholson for the Crown.

The minutes of the last meeting and the correspondence were read by the secretary. Miss Edith Mac- Donald. New business included tentative plans for visiting the Odd- feuows for their annual rail bean supper to be held in November. At the close of the business period Mrs. Muriel Shaw was honored by the members when she was pre- sented with a beautiful and table.
