McKibbin, of Port Arthur, 0nt., officer in Sharge of administration for Canada’s NATO Brigade, in- spected nearly 100 young soldi- ers and congratulated them on successfully completing the course. The students had taken eight weeks of intensive training in leadership and how to instruct in the basic Army skills and drills. Great stress is placed on training the junior leaders since with the advent of the nuclear concept of warfare more re- sponsibility is falling on the cor- porals and lance-corporals. The leading candidate in the graduating class was 20-year-old L-Cpl. Georges C. Dupuis, of Sherbrooke, Que, a m er of the 3rd Battalion, Le Royal 22e Regiment. Second in the class was an. Michael E. Five of O‘Leary village com- missioners have been appointed a Board of Health for the village and will enforce the Public Health Act, it was announced yesterday by Premier A; W. Matheson.
It was explained the act calls for the board to consist of not more than five persons.
The board will have the auth— ority to act on matters of sanita- tion and other health problems.
Mrs. L. Wallace Dies At 23 Years
'ALB‘ERT‘ON Mrs. Lester Wallace passed away at her home in Cascumpec on Thurs- day. December 11.
The former Gertrude Bell, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Bell, was born at Mill River 73 years ago.
In November, 1906, she was married to Lester Wallace and since then her home has been ill Cascumpec. .
Mrs. Wallace ‘was Sincerely loved by a large family connect- ion and a wide circle of friends. Throughout the years she has always taken an active interest in her church and community. She first became ill more than three years ago but through the blessings of modern medical science she was granted a res- pite of this illness until a few months ago. ‘ Besides her husband she is sur‘ vived by six sons and one daugh- ter.
