Lixcety, Neb., May 18.—A violent tor- nedo devastated a wide district along the Republican river in South Central Nebraska early last nigat. It swept rapidiy north- ward, devastating the farms, groves and cattle ranches that Jay in its path. The forest growth along the river lies prostrate and taugled.
