Big “Day's Curling Set For Monday

Monday is going to be a big day at the local curling rink when six rinks from Summerside, four from Montague and a like number o; local curlers wi.i take part iii matches to decide holders for 1940 of the Gaboury. liilgcAi-tliur and Regal Flour tiophies.

‘Three rinks from each club will fight, it. out for the Gnboiiry; two rinks from Summerside will meet two rinks from the Char- lottetown club for the MacArthur Trophy won this year from Morit- ague by Charlottetown while a single rink from each club winn- ers of the competition now being staged in each rink will meet to decide the holders of the Regal Flour trophy rind the resulting fl- wards that go to the winning rink. - It is expected that the day's matches will get underway at 2 o'- clock in the afternoon continuing at night until completed.

The competition to decide the local rink that will represent the Charlottetown club In the Regal Floor competition against Summer- slde and Charlottetown must be completed by Saturday evening the Games Committee of the Char- lottetown Club stated last night. This was made necessary owing the fact that on Monday Mont- ague and Summers" will have rinks ready to play for the trophy now held by a Charlottetown rink. There are ten matches yet to be layed in the local competition so ‘tennis mates had better get busy arranging Heir games as if no winner ls decided by Saturday the team with the highest per- centage will he chosen as the rlnk to represent the Citv Club.

Jack broke into ilie curling gairie in 1909 at the old Curling rink and in the succeeding years has played in practically every rink in the iMiiritimes. he skzpped and played mates for various club teams but in his two seasons with ilie Big Four has played lead. Is President of the Prince Edward Island Curling Association.
