TORONTO, March 20.—NIallrl Fails, Ontario Hockey Association titlists, will carry a one-goal lead into the second game of the Allan Cup semi-finals as a. result of their 1-0 victory over Moncton Hawks, Maritime champions in the first game tonight. The second of the two-game, total-goal series, will be played here Friday.

TORONTO, March 29.-— 1GP.) -— Moncton Hawks, a Maritime hockey force credited with carrying more power than any Allan Cup aspirant from the Eastern Seaboard ever brought to the playdown wars, fac- ed Niagara Falls Cataracts here to- night in the first, of a. two-game series to decide the aunt's senior champions.

The teams play the second game of the total-goal series here Friday night.

PLAY BY PERIODS First Period

The game started 15 minutes late with neither team making a serious eflort at combination play. Muckle got in the first shot, a. low drive from the right boards. Cataracts rushed dangerously, Hastie leading the attack till McDonald broke up a three-man F‘alls assault and raced around the Niagara defence. He pulled Esseltine out of position but was checked before he could shoot.

Kaminsky Scores For Falls

Goalie Foster turned aside long range shots from Shannon and Kaminsky before the Niagara Falls winger beat him on a. solo rush. Kaminsky skated around Walker on Monctoh‘: defence and fired a. low shot that. caught the corner of the net. .

Foster Brilliant

Faster skaters, Cataracts checked M10131? as they stormed back for more goals after stopping every Moncton thrust. Foster made a great save when Steele was in on ton of him. The goalie had another 800d save from Kaminsky.

Connolly, James and Webster swarmed around Esseltine, throwing rubber at him from all di- rections, but the Falls fort held till the defence star returned.

The checking was too tight for either squad to make much head- way in the last two minutes.

AMHERST, N. S., March 29.—An all-Maritime hockey team will tour Europe next year if permission is granted by the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association at its coming annual meeting ln Vancouver.

Announcement was made to this cilcct tonight by President Janles Wry, oi’ the Maritime Amateur Hoc- key Association, who leaves Thurs- day for the meeting. He was unable to state whether the selection would be made from the Big 'I‘hrec League or from all Maritime teams.

President Wry declared that this recognition was to have been ac- corded the Maritimes this year but that the‘ puck-chasers from the eastern provinces had been forced to forcgo the trip owing to condi- tions abroad.

The Association head announced tonight also that he proposed to ex- tend the C. A. H. A. the hospitality of Maritime rinks for the Allan Cup finals of 1934.

L.P.U. Defeated Macs, Old Rivals

The L. P. U- defeated their 01d rivals, the Macs, in a hotly con- tested hockey game at the Forum last evening. The score was 2-1, and every goal was gained with a. hard struggle, Ryan scored both Nils for the Union, with the able assfstance - of his teammates,- wllile Gallant tallied for the Macs.
