Through no lack of effort, the women's hockey team have failed to come out victorious So far this season. The girls were unable to capitalize on Saturday as they were defeated by the Mounties of Mount Allison 4-3. However, the ice in Crapaud treat- ed the girls well as the three they Scored almost matched their com- bined goals for, for the entire sea- Son. It would seem as though these girls are starting to put the offen- Sive pieces together in order to Start winning.

but unfortunately allowed 5. The lines are starting to click, and look for these ladies to give a fine showing down the stretch.

These recent losses have seen the lady panthers record fall to 0-8. But don't count these girls out just yet. With six games remaining in the season, and most of the stand- ings being dominated by St. FX, DAL, and SMU, there are still three available slots for the remain- ing five teams. Of the four other teams contending for last three

_ playoff spots, three of them have

four points, and one with only six. If the girls are able to put the puck in the net after the holidays, we very well could see women's varsi- ty playoff hockey at UPEI.

Erin McCarvill, setter for the Panthers had 5 kills, 2 blocks and 4 digs while Jackie Ellsworth once again had a great game with 27 digs. Michelle Pridham, Ashley Shannik and Val Shannik were all strong on the ball with 9 kills each.
