GLACE BA , N.5.. Nov. 18 - (CP) - Syd ey Millionaires, last year the pride of Maritime hockey. were humbled 4-3 by Glace Bay -Miners in a major league .game here Saturday night. It was their iourth consecutive loss to Miners.

More than 3.800 cash customers watched the locals in the best game played since the M.M.H'.L. began. Miners outshot the visitors by a slim 30-28. Sydney now is In in the circuit cellar, three points behind Moncton and Halifax.

ub's new executive is putting punch and drive into its oper- ations and the royal and ancient game hereabouts is pointing to- ward; a very active year.

The executive is attacking the . problem oi stirring up enthusiasm from two directions, each de- pendent on the other for success.

Flrst.ihe clu-b quarters have been repainted irom ground floor to the banquet hall on the top iloor. Floors. walls and ceilings have all been cleaned. painted or varnished. The banquet room has been transiormed, with the ceiling painted a warm red and the walls in three-toned grey. The room in its new garb is startlingly at- tractive. On the ground floor. the tine hard-wood iloors long con- ccalcd under the roughening wear and test oi traiiic, have regained their natural beauty alter scrub- bing and varnishing. These floors are of oak.

This week new furniture will be moved into place and aside from a little straightening up here and there the club will be ready tor the winter.

The women's division oi the club will open the year's activit- ies on Wednesday night. Nov. 22nd with a bridge party. By that date all the new iurniture will have been delivered and with its newly decorated rooms. the club will be more attractive than it has ever been.

Athletic Union To continue Empire Games Sponsorship

After long debate delegates to the annual meeting here Friday night rejected a. resolutions com- mittee motion calling (or an in- dependent British Empire Games committee.

A later resolution called on the B. E. G. committee to iormulate new rules which would make it a more continuing body with more control.
