‘TORONTO (GP) — The stock l’h’arket had its ,most speculative session of the year Wednesday and it resulted. in a moderate rally amid one of the heaviest volumes in eight months. 5 New Hosco featured trading with a 90-cent jump to $1.35 fol— lowing an encouraging drilling re- port from its copper property near the Mattalgami area of Que- bec. The stock thus climbed from its 17-cent close of Friday, touch- ingla high of $1.46 in mid-after- noon today before settling back. :The turnover on New Hosco totalled 909,568 shares, the heav— iest vol» e on one stock this year. Changes genenally ranged to one point but Trans Mountain went up 1% to 53, Power Cor- poration at 63% was down 1% and a gain- 00 23/4. was registered
by International Paper at '95.
In the construction stocks, one- point gains were registered by St. Lawrence Carnent A at 15% and Canadian Dredge at 22%.

the American Stock Ex- change Humble Oil jumped 13 points to close at, 68 on news that Standard Oil (Nfew Jensey) was planning to make an offer of about dive shares of Jersey for tour shares of Humble. Under the first impact of the news, buying in Humble became so heavy that trading in the stock was sus— pended lor 64 minutes. At that point it showed a gain of 2%.
