Capt. Morrell, of the steamer Missouri, reports to-day to the hiedrographic office that he had found shoals forming at the Grand Banks off Cape Race. The shoaling is supposed to be due to debris carried down by the Labrador currents on the bottom of ice bergs, and forming a bed of deposit between the Labrador current and Gulf Stream.

4 Crew Rescued.

New York, Jan. 10.

The British steamer Stag arrived to-day, having on board the crew of the German ship Shakespeare, before reported wrecked on Dec. 16th. On Dec. 17 Capt. Maller, 'of the Shakespeare died suddenly of heart ‘disease. On Dec. 21 the Stag rescued the | Shakespeare's crew, 18 in ali, much bruised ‘and exhausted from exposure. !
