0.A.H.A. Finds Itself Slymied In Junior Plans

MONTREAL (CPI-The Quebec Amateur Hockey Association to- day finds itself symied--at least for this season-in its plan to re-. vitalize junior hockey on a nation- wide basis that would have meant competition for a new trophy. The four junior A leagues with- in the QAHA were prepared to go along with the plan and leader! of the movement had hoped to en- list the Maritimes. Ottawa dis- trict and the various Western Can- ada branches of the parent Cana- dinn Amiiteur Hockey Association. The scheme would leave out Ot- tawa Junior Canadians. the big Junior units in the Ontario Hockey Association and other powerful junior outfits which are consid- ered in something of a junior pm Category.

But the Ottawa district branch has decided to go into Memorial Cup competition with the Junior Canadiens. the OHA and Western Canada.

The Quebec branch will hold its usual playoffs for the QAHA cup - emblematic of the provincial championship-and then call it 1 season. Ottawa Junior Canadicna will be regarded as Quebec": en- try in Memorial Cup play.
