OcroseR 31.—John Wood, forassault and trespass on John Trenaman, | Ksq., while in the discharge of his duty as a County Magistrate, on the 26th September last, endeavoring to quell a riot on board the Ferry | Steamer. Convicted. Fined 40s., with costs, or be imprisoned 6 weeks | for the assault, aad fined 10s., with costs, or be imprisoned 14 days for | the trespass. Puid in Court.

Oct 31.—J. Hayden, jun., on complaint of John Bovyer, Assayer of Weights and Measures for Quewn’s County, before Robert Hutchinson, |

. J.P., for being three weights short in his mill of the number re- | quired by the Mill Act, was subject to, and paid a fine of thirty shillings with costs.

Nov. 1.—Otto Curtis was convicted before Robt. Hutchinson and Thos. Pethick, Esqrs., J. P., for careless driving, by which he upset a horse * and cart at Robinson's Hill, Malpeque Road, and fined 5s. with costs.

Nov. 2.—Abercrombie Willock, for trespass on the household pro-

rty of, and threatening language to Duncan Stewart. Convicted. Ordered to pay the amount of damage done, 19s. 5d., with costs, or be imprisoned three weeks, and to fied bail himself in £20 and two sureties in £10, and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour for 6 months, and stand committed till such security be given.

5th.—Thomas Connors, drunk, disorderly and insulting Police Con- stables. Convicted. Fined 5s., with costs, or be imprisoned 48 bours, and ordered to give bai! in £20, and two sureties in £10, each to keep the peace and be of good behaviour for 3 months, and stand committed till such security be given.

Launched.

On the 25th ult., from the shipyard of Mr. Michael Ramsay, Lot 11, a very superior juniper built and copper fastened Brig, 286 tons, O. M., ealled the “‘ Conqueror,’’ built for Messrs. Read & Lefurgy. This vessel has been built to class Al for seven years at Lloyd's, and for beauty of model and good workmanship is allowed, by competent judges, nut to have been excelled by any vessel ever built on this Island.

On the 29th October, from the Shipyard of Mr. Ewen Clark, Fifteen Point, a very superior juniper built Brigantine, of 203 tons, called the * Mercury, built for Mr. Duncan McRae, of Rustico. This vessel is in- tended to class § years A 1 at Lloyd’s.
