Ar tHE Rixx.—About six hundred persons wituessed the hockey match and races at the rink last eveniug. Duffy won both races, capturing the two mile by about three quarters ofa lap 1n7.57 and the one mile by five or six yards in 3.57. In the first race Gaudet fell on the first round, and lost about helf a lap before regaining bis feet. In the one mile the ‘wo kept well together until the race was ha'f over when Duffy tegan to forge ahead. Gaudet skated wel}, but the St. John man had too much speed. The bockey match between the Junior Abbies and Diamonds, was won by the former, the score being 2 to lin their favor. The play was lively throughout, and the teams seemed pretty evenly matched. The game was refereed by Mr. H. Bethune. It is announced that Duffy will give an exhibition of high jump ing and tancy skating in the rink to-night, In connectiov with this exbibition there will bea hockey match between teams from the Abbies and Vics. On Thursday night Duffy will skatea twomile race against any two local men. Gaudet will take part in the Maritime sports at St. Jobn.
