From Canada over 300,000 vol- untarily'responded. Of this number about 60,000 were killed in action or died of wounds or from other causes.

It is needless to speak of the grout battles in which the Canadians show- ell themselves worthy of their fore- ”iltllors: Ypres, Fesiubert. Givonchy, Messincs, St. Elol, Somme, Vimy, Lens. Hill 70, Passcliandaele. Cumbriu Amiens, and at the last the capture of Mons. .

Now we come to Reconstruction. What is it? Reconstruction means that each and everyone of us will aim to see Our country better than when we found it. It means all of us working 'or the final good with the object of ‘rying to imitate the example not be- fore us by those who died that. the treat principle of "Liberty" may be prepetuated in the gencl'ation that will follow us.

Now that the struggle ls over. we may recall the events of the last four years and be proud of the glorious part our beloved Canada took in the Great Wgrid War which is happily at an en .
