All those teachers as well as those who had served continuous- ly for several past years had done faithful. arduous work. Without their co-operation and loyalty he would have been unable to carry such a heavy burden es the prin- cipalship of the College imposed. Di. Steel said.

In closing. Dr. Steel paid a tri- bute to the students who had

After presenting the diplomas. Lieutenant-Governor J. A. Bern- arcl briefly addressed the students. They were fortunate. the Governor said, to be living: in a Province that had the facilities for edu- cation which were available at Prince of Wales. They were ‘for- tunate. too. in having had par- ents who by hard ivork and sacri- fice had made their education possible. He hoped that many of them. before deciding to leave the Province. wouldtlook round about them and consider the opportun- ities and the needs of Prince Ed- ward Island. There was no doubt. ho said. that the most of them could find their life work here without going abr ad.

Premier J. Water Jones said he hoped that the graduates would realize they were only now in’ a position to acquire an education. Many of them had coinc from homes where rising early and putting in a hard day's work were matters of routine. They should get out of their heads the idea. that they should be able t0 get a "white collar job" at once tvhioli would pay big money and which did not require. hard work. “White collar jobs may soon be a dime a dozen." the Premier said. and he urged the students to face realities and not be led away with the belief that anything ivorth acquiring could be obtain- cd without hard work. i
