Mr. Campbell asked the chairman of the Stock Farm Commissioners if any of the stock belonging te the Goverament Farm were exbibited at the Exhibitions at dali fax or St. Jobo last autumn, has the stock on said Farm been tested for tuberculosis, if not why such action bas not been taken.

Hon. Mr. McNutt enid that the Govern- ment did not exbibit the eattle on the Gov- ernment Stock Farm atthe cattle shows in St. John er Halifex One of the firet things he (Mr. McNutt) did after being ap- pointed on the Board of Commis+ioners was to bave the cattle tested, and the veterinary surgeon was here to go oo with the work. He called the Commissicaers together and found a majority oppored tothe teat. One of the Com- m ssioners who has herd of pure bred cattle opposed such action so strongly ‘bat it had to be deferred. It was his iotention however to have the work dome as foen as a majerity of the Commissioners were in favor of it. He thought all the herds should be tested. A gentlemen had offers ed a price for one of the shorthern heifers on the Stock Farm which he wanted for a berd. The man in charge thought the Commis oners would pot refuse the offer, and the heifer was taken to Halifax. Upon her returo from Halifax he (Mr. McNutt) was called up by telephene and asked if he would accept the price offered for the

heifer. But be refused to sell at ary price. Mr. John A McD na'd aeked the Com~

missioner of Public Works if it is the in- tention of the Government to pay Mr. John H-ekev,ot Daraley, the eum of fifteen do'lars as agreed upoa for lands taken ty the Government to open up a new road to the shore of Darnl-y River through Hickey’s farm.
