The Markets:
Boston, May 15.
The potato market has been decidedly dull for the past week, with prices ruling altogether in buyers’ favor, but at the close there are some indications of a better feeling although prices show no improvement as yeé. Aroos- took County Hebrons and Rose contiaued in light supply and are comparatively firm. Pro- lifics, White Stars, etc, when choice and hard meet with a moderate sale at from 75c to 85c. Western have been quite plenty, and best lots slow at 60c¢ to 65c, with a good many inferior at 40c to 50c. Chenangoes in liberal supply at 70c to 75c, as toquality. Magnums plenty, lower and dull, late sales being generally at $1.50 to $1 75 per sack.
The anivals of eggs are increasing again, and demsnd has been rather slow for most kinds. Eastern extras have been in short supply at 14 to 144c. Good marks of N. 8. and N. B. firm at i3fc. P. EK. I. in heavy supply and closing ont slowly at 13 to 134c. Western in steady demand at 13% to l4c, the latter for strictly extra marks.
The general condition of the fish market remains about the same, with trade quict. Mackerel quiet at following prices :
