Since Mr. Thompson became leader in 1964, the party has gone from bad to worse inthe public’s eye: until now the opinion polls show it to be trailing the New Democrats in public support. If an election were held to- - morrow, the Liberals would probably lose most of the 22 seats in the House which they-now hold, while the NDP ~ would form the official opposition. -
