Reduction of tuition fees

No recommendation at this time is being considered that

would involve an adjustment in tuition fees “to reflect disrup-

tions /inconveniences experienced during the academic year”.

We have been advised by the Maritime Provinces Higher Ed-

ucation Commission that tuition fees should rise by the same

amount as that recommended for the operation grant, that

is, about 6.9%. Since our expenses will remain the same

throughout the year in question, any loss in revenue means

a deficit or a reduction in services. In my opinion the quality

of the education that will be received next year will not, and

should not, be compromised by this break; indeed, I think

it possible for the long break to be a constructive feature;

and I hope that the students will accept that these disrup-

tions and inconveniences, real though they are, should be

seen as their significant contribution to the holding of the

Reduction of admission rates for students at Winter Games functions/events

The Host Society has set the prices for attendance at Winter Games events, $4.00 for Day passes, $5.00 for Medal passes, with admission to all venues. The Society believes that these prices are as low as can be set, and thus cannot offer any

discount to special groups.

Student loan considerations
