With his good paw he dug down into it and stirred it up. Than he lay down beside it. Out poured the Ants by hundreds and hundreds. They crawled all over his paws. He licked them up and smacked his lips for Ants are anolhcr favorite dish with Buster Bear. By the time the Ants had stopped pouring out to see what had happened to their home Bus- ter had takcn the edge off his appetite, as the saying goes.

As I have said before, Buster has a swcct tooth. He is very fond of sweets. He must have a sour tooth too, for Ants are sour. At least I have been told they are. I've never tried them myself, Buster never misses a chance to lick them when he finds enough of them to make it worthwhile.

Then one day Buster Bear rc- mcinbered something. He won- dered why he hadn't remembered it before. He licked his lips' and his mouth watered just thinking about the least he could have in spite of his sore paw. He wasted no time. He limped oft straight for the old pasture. Did you ask what; for? Can't you guess? Blueberries Blueberries must be ripe. And blueberries grow in the old pasture. He tried to hurry. He limped along as fast as he could on three feet. Biacky the Crow saw him. "I won- der where that Black Rascal is go- ing now. He seems to be in a hurry. When Buster Bear hurries he usually has something on his mind. I think I'll follow and see where he is going." said Biacky to himself.

So Biacky followed, flying from: tree to tree behind Buster but not near cnough for Buster to notice him. when Buster reached the edge or the old pasture. he stop- ped. He stood up to his full height. You know he can stand up just. likea man. For a. long time he stood there just looking and listening. Thcrc are no big trees in the old pasture. only bushes. Many of the bushes are very low. It is not easy to keep out of sight ii there are other people in the old pasture. Buster was looking to make sure that there were no tivo-legged human folk.

The Merry Little Breezes came dancing across the old pasture. They tickled his nose with all ihc odors they had picked up on the way. There was none of the hated Man smell among these. They whi ered in Buster's ears that all was well and it was pct- fcctly safe for him to leave the Green Forest. for the old pasture.

Buster limped forward among the bushes. Almost at once he came to a big bush that was fairly blue with luscious, big berries. Buster sighed happily. He sat up beside that bush. The way those berries disappeared was some- thing to see. He stripped them off that bush grecdly. He didn't mind I it a few were green. He didn't
