In spite of the heavy rain which fell on Saturday afternoon. Rt. Hon. R. B. Bennett was greeted with a very large audience considering the circumstances. The Conservative leader was in splendid form. and his excellently reasoned and forceful speech captured, it was evident, the enthusiastic attention of his hear- ‘ers.

As he drove home point by point o1’ his discourse with splendid log- ic. hearty bursts oi applause bore witness to. the excellent impression he was making on his audience.

Owing to the weather. the func- tion both reception, programme and addresses, was held in the exhibi- tion bullding itself.

The annual meeting of the Queens County Liberal-Conservative Assoc- iation was held first, followed by a de- lightful programme of music played by the Canadian Legion Band. This in its turn was succeeded by a ser- ioa- of Scottish dances perforrnediin costume accompanied in true High- land spirit on the bag pipes by Cap- tain MacDougall.

Brain Of Lenin ;Dissected

(Special to thc Guardian) PARIS, Aug. 11.—The brain of the late Nicolai Lenin. the Bolshe- vik dictator has been cut up into 31,000 slices and particles. For two and a half years the entire scien- tific staff of the Lenin institution. at Moscow under the direction of the famous German savant, Profes- sor Otto Vogt, has been busy with the task of dissecting and analyzing the gray matter of the Apostle of Communion. ‘

Professor Vogt has. at the invita- tion of the Paris Sorbonne authori- ties just given a report of his acti- vities to an international group of scientists. The result is that France. and perhaps some other European governments, plan the institution of a. pantheon of the brain. a place where the brains of great statesmen, scientists, writers, musicians and artists will be pre- served and annallzed. Cerebral ex- aminations of great men have been made from time to time previous to the experiments of Lenin's brain. It will be recalled that the gray inat- ter of an Anatole France caused a surprise in that it. did not exceed that of a child in weight but never before have such thorough and scientific methods been employed as has been the case with Lenin's mental remains.
