Last week we had the pleasure of visiting Dr. C. V. McCready in his new office, Alberton. We found the affable gentleman in good cheer. We were very much pleased to no- tice the neat, attractive and com- fortable office which the Dr. occu- pies. His Harvard dental chair is one of the greatest bit of mecha- nism we have ever seen. The doc- tor’s popularity and eficient work have won for him golden opinions from the public. Extracting, fil- ling, bridgexrork, etc., in fact all that comes within the radius of dental surgzry is practised in Dr. McCieady's office.

Your letter dated the 21st instant is duly to hand re certain ehanges in Caseumpea Harbour and requiring certain information there- on, which it appears I have neglected to give.

With regard to the moving of Sa- vage Island Lights without notifying, [ beg respectfullv to atate, that I took the draft notice as suficeut authority and that the fast of removal was not to be proclaimed by me to the Depart- ment, but that I should simply carry out the terms of the notice, this act wouli necessarily cause the disconti- nuance of Savage Island Lights.

On the 22nd September last I visit- ed in the ‘::BRANT" the Harbour, and Mr. Walsh took the crew and with them and the assistonce of the Keeper and George Oulton and team of horses, removed from Savage Island, one mast and gear and set it up in front of the main tower, as instructed, and thac night it was lighted and Savage Island Range was closed down. On Monday the 25th I passed out the Harber on this range, over the outer Bar in 9 feet water at dead low tide, ter some time the Range was satisfac- terv, tben came a storm and the chan- nel on the Bar went north, s0 as the lights as then placed would not give best water.
