Campus Comedy?

Class clowns put on class act

stand up in front of their peers and let the world know just how funny they really are- or are they? :

The president of the Music Society (which sponsored the event), Anne Curley, said the Society wanted to sponsor the evening for the fun, and to get students involved. For the most part, the evening was a smash, and the audience certainly did take part in the event. It was an evening packed full of laughter and cheers, boos and tears.

The contest was hosted by a trio who go by the name of The Arrogant Worms. From King- ston, Ontario, the group has been on the Dini Petti Show, and in many festivals across the country. They entertained the audience with their bizarre sense.of humour and truly foolish music.

As for the comics, some were funny, some were not. Some were too drunk to care if they were funny or not, some were just there for the fun of it, and yes, a few were absolutely hilari- ous. Students in the competition didn’t mind if they looked ridiculous to the crowd. Over $350.00 in cash and prizes were up for grabs, and they were willing to bare all to win.

Three judges marked the comics on timing/ delivery, spontaneity, audience response, and originality. As the evening progressed, the three top funny men were soon decided. Chris Buote in third place winning $50.00, Joe MacDonald winning $100.00 for second place, and the Campus King of Laughter is Peter Wynne, winning $200.00.
