CIMN has becane one of the best student radio stations in the country, mainly because the Student Union Executive- John MacDougall—President. . . Brian Brennan 'and Victor Moore—- Vice Presidenm and Glen Hynes Treasurer decided to hire a professional Radio Engineer- John Bently and build a new station.

Gordon Johnston a professional programmer and music director Started from scratch and built a completely new library and a color coded music system. CIMN has a good staff and all announcers are students here at UPEI. All DJ's follow the stations color coded music system from 8am until 7pm. After 7pm there is an Owen format. The DJ's are free to

new opinions. I remain to the ideal that all young

people in this country have a

basic right to education-’- the same as Islanders have a right to power rates. People have a

program their own shows. There are still a couple'of ooenings for announcers if any students are interested he or she could drop up to the station and fill out an application. As we11_as broadcasting on the air, our station has closed circuit ' facilities into the Panther , lounge, Robertson Library Lounge, and the cafeteria, New Sound system have been V, installed in the Panthér Lounge and the Library Ioung . A. CIMN will soon have an active news department and a sports depar’anent and we ‘ will be following and broad— casting many away games of the UPEI, Intercollegiate athletic teams.
