Bldgood-Ktrkland was down more than 5 cents. Straw Lake closed at 7 5-8, fractlonully higher. Naybob was unchanged despite heavy trade.

MONTREAL. April 8—(C'P)-- Catl-ic trade was brisk wit-h prices a. shade higher on the Montreal livestock markets today, the Do- minion Department. of Agriculture reported. Market officials said there was little chance of a def- inite hog market being established during the day.

There was an odd early sale of hogs at $9 but the balance oi the hogs were slow sellers.

Receipts were cattle. 677: calves 381; sheep B3 and hogs 1,443.

Steers sold up to $7.75 with the bulk of the "good steers between $7.25 and $7.50. medium steers were from $0.25 to $7 and common from $6 down Heifers were from $4 to $7. Good butcher cows were mostly 55-50 ‘it'll-Tl tops up to $6, medium $4.50 to $5.25 and common $4 to $4.50. Canners and cutters were $3 to $3.75 and bulls $4.25 to $6.
