A sad gloom was cast over Bea View and the surrounding districts on January 1st when it was learn- ed\ that Mr. Leigh Sutherland had passed: to the "Great Beyond." The deceased had suffered a stroke from which he never fully recovered. and in spite of‘ best medical attention and tender nursing, h; passed peace- fully away on the above mentioned date, at the comparatively early age of 03. years,

In his passing the community has lost a most highly respected citizen. honest. obliging, and up- right in all his dealings, ever ready and willing to lend a helping hand, or to do a deed of kindness, and any favor asked of; him was always granted. A true neighbor and" friend he will be greatly missed in the neighborhood. but in the home the loss will be most keenly felt. ‘A devoted husband and father, a vacant chair that can neve;-__bs filled. The sincere sympathy of their many friends is extended to the bereaved.

He leaves to mourn their loss. his scrrowing widow (nee Ethel Mc- Gougan), one son Robert and four grandsons. also one brother James. residing in New Brunswick and two sisters Marlon, Ottawa, and Florence, Montreal. The funeral was held from the hcvne on Satur- day afternoon. and despite the “n. favorable condition of the roads, a large number assembled to pay their last tribute of respect. ‘ ‘Rev. Indoors, in quiet days I found
