St. James Concert.

Tux concert in St. James’ Hall last evening under the auspices of the Y M L A. was largely attended. An excellent pregramme was carried out in & manoer evidently satisfactury to every persun pre- sent Rev. Mr. Carruthers presided in his usual happy manner, and Mr. Earle was at home as musical director and accompanist: The soloists were Mra. Roome, Mrs, J. M. McLeod and Miss Earle, and Messrs. F. H. Beer, A. A. Bruce, F. DeC. Davies, Master Charles Earle and A. C. McMahon. They were all well received, and their sel- ections were listened to with the greatest attention and generously applauded. Mr. McMahon's comic song, ** When McCor- mack Rules the State,” was so well re- ceived that in his case the rule res- had to be sus-
