ALBERTON —Charles R. Profit. a lifelong resident of Al- berton, died in Western Hospital Saturday evening fol- lowing a brief illness. He was 77.

He was a former mayor of the town and had previously served as a councillor an town clerk. For 27 ears he was a member of the volunteer fire department. He was also a jus- tice of the peace for many years.

He was a past land Lodge had merited the 50 year jewel a few years ago. His contempor- aries considered him an autho- rity on lodge work and history. As a sportsman he had a keen interest in hunting and he was :a charter member of Alberton. f Curling Club.
