The condition of Mrs. Stsnnis Laplerre who has been ailing for several months has become more serious and plans to remove her to the Charlottetown Hospital have been changed by her own request that she be left at home near her family. She and Mr. La- pierre have been married fifty- two years.

Dr. R. J. MacDonald, ninety- tour, was one of the honored guests at the dinner following the recent ordination at the Little Flower Church. The dinner for clergy and a few honored guests was served at the parish house by the C. W. L. Sub-Division. Hail and hearty, smart as he was at fifty, the grand old doctor jok- jngly said. "I suppose I will be old some day." Right now he 1! T busy country doctor.

A crewtof workmen front the Island Telephone Company have made headquarters in Georgetown and have commenced work on running a new telephone line from Poole's Garage to where the present line Joins the Town Road at Bovyer's Corner, and from there into Georgetown. The line will be re-poled. When this work is completed it is understood that the town's telephones will be div- ided into three circuits and con- nected with the Montague Ex- change. which will give users a twenty-four hour service.

The packing plants here were operating only three days last week owing to poor weather and poor fishing. They have worked only eleven days during the month of May instead of the usual twen- ty-five.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis O'Brien ar- rived here from Montreal over the week-end. Mr. O'Brien. a former resident of this vicinity. and his wife are visiting his old home during their vacation.

Friends of Mr. George Barry will be sorry to learn of his poor health; he was ordered to the hospital at once by his doctor last Saturday. Mr. Barry and family left Bristol a week ago to reside in New Glasgow, P.E.I., where he had accepted a position as an egg grader. He had served in this po- sition with Dingwell and Rossiter here for a. number of years and had only accepted the new posit- ion a short time ago.

Friends are pleased to learn that Rev. H. H... Bell, and Mrs. Bell, Kingsboro, are out and about again following an unfortunate accident which occurred when the steering wheel of their car failed, to work while driving down a steep hill. Both were taken to Souris Hospital, where they were treated for shock; injuries.
