The weekly comedy show. of U.P.E.I. cah be heard at Duffy Amphitheatre every Sunday night starting at 8:00p.m. The environment in which you can witness this show is somewhat un- usual as compared to most comedy shows. There are a couple of hundred people who are drawn there under the misinterpretation that they can partake in the enjoyment of being enter- tained by a movie but in- stead they are"entertained" by a few jackasses who seem to be the only ones who find any humor in such a display of child-
ish behaviour. And so it ends up that when we go to see a movie on Sunday night that's all we do — see a movie because we can't hear it. s Last week when "Romeo and Juliet" was playing I couldn't help but rem? inisce about the Saturday afternoon matinees we all used to go to when we were ten years old. Whoever made the most noise, the smartest cracks and ran in and out the most was usually the topic of con- versation in school the following week — a really cool position to be in at'
that period in life. You'd think that after an add- itional ten years of grow— in up(?) that certain people would act a bit more mature than they did when they were ten years old at the Saturday matin- ees. After all, now they are allowed to go to mov- ies at night without their big brothers or sisters checking up on them. May- be if those certain people still did have to go to the movies with their older siblings they might behave themselves at our Sunday movies.
What makes me wonder is why these peOple pay a

Out of 1400 students at U.P.E.I., approximately‘ 102 or 40 students showed for this important,meeting. (the 102 includes the Stu- dent Union Members). Per- haps the apathy of the stu- dents can be put down to the time at which the meet- ing was scheduled for.

ersityf then it is virtu— ally impossible to attend these Student Union meet— ings. Also worth mention- ing iS’the amount of the student population that retire to the hountry for the week-end and do not return until late Sunday night. With the competi-
tion so high-no wonder there
was such little turn out. It has been decided that the Committee heads
be installed in office from
May to May instead of from February to February. This is hoped to alleviate the problems which ensue from changing.staff half way through the term.
Last year the Students were covered Under Zurich Insurance but the Student Union feels that Blue Cross covers the Students more effectively, so it has,
.been adopted as the Univ— ersity Insurance.
The Student Union is also trying to obtain a perminent liquor liscence, set up a Progress Fund for a new Student Union Build- ing (which is desperately needed), and have passed a bill which will require part-time students to pay a small token fee.- Part time students now have acc— ess to activities at the University. With this bill it is hoped that some of the financial burden will fall from the full-time students. This bill must be passed by the board of governors first.
There was no treasury report because of the chan- ge in staff heads. It is hoped that the financial report will be out next week?

dollar to make fools of themselves in front of two hundred other people who pay a dollar to enjoy a movie, not performing seals. I think the "performing seals" should have a
.party at their own place every Sunday night and
perform for other fools who enjoy that form of so—called humour. Also, since the Campus Police also make a regular app- earance as the straight — men of the show, maybe they should become a bit more active and ban these fools from the movies for a while. Or, in other
~words, do the job they're
hired for. We have enough
statues on this campus,
no additional are required. So, children, if you
can't behave yourselves
while the movie is in
progress, please stay home
and decide what to wear
to school the nest day
or something. Geez, you
can dress kids up but
you can't take 'em any-
where theSe days.

Ribs" goes to Paula and
Rennie. He said,"Will ya?"
She said, "Yes!" Now
they're looking for a
wedding dress. Congratu-
lations.
Committee heads have now become on par with the rest of the student body. No longer will they be allowed to get into ect— ivities at U.P.E.I. free. At Pig & Whistles they must now pay the same price in— stead of getting their beer at cost price.
The Personnel Board has lost one of its mem- here, Mike Duffy. At last the Personnel board is publishing a list of dut— ies required for each job. Now the holders of these jobs cannot plead ignor— ance unless they cannot read. The Personnel Board is also responSible for the hiring and firing of all people involved with in salary jobs. I feel that they should look in- to the matter of why only
