Student Services

First of alla hearty welcome to all you newcomers and the same to those oldies returning for a new year!

We are undergoing many changes in the Department of Student Services, and as a result of this, will be experiencing many adjustments and growing pains over the next two semesters.

To begin with, our Director, Jennifer Goddard- Sheppard is on Maternity Leave January 1, 1992. She has a new baby girl ‘‘Joy Elizabeth,’’ a sister for Emily. I am filling in as her replacement until she returns.

There has also been a major shift in the Residence Personnel. Mike Read, formally Residence Manager, is now Liaison Officer and Conference Manager. Mike will have a busy travelling schedule this semester both on and off the Island. Replacing him is the new Residence Manager, Cathy Ronahan, formally Head Resident in Bernadine Hall and Residence Program Co-ordinator. Cathy now resides in Blanchard Hall and will be maintaining office

hours in that building. Her MUEPDONE number is 566- 0442.

Cathy is assisted by a new student assistant, Judy Squires, and two new Head residents, Susan Griffiths in Bernadine Hall and George MacMillan in Marian Hall. She also has the strong support of nine R.A.’s; two in Marian, three in Bernadine and four in Blanchard Halls.

lam very pleased to announce also that we now have the full-time services of Shirley Hudson, Guidance Counsellor during the academic year. Shirley has

been with us for a while now, ona part-time basis.

‘Last, but not least, | would like to welcome our new ‘ ‘Chaplain, Rev. John Montgomery. John isa retired ‘Anglican priest who was based in Summerside and

will now serve our campus two days a week. He can be found in the Chaplaincy Centre on Wednesdays: and Thursdays.

We are in fora very challenging year. We are all eager to serve you in as a professional and efficient manner as possible. However, because we are experiencing so many changes, and are in transition to becoming more confident and knowledgeable with our new duties, we may find ourselves needing your patience and understanding from time to time.

I extend to you a sincere invitation to drop in to visit us at Student Services, Robertson Library, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
