One of the worst features of ballet in Canada, he said, was the lack of male daiicers.

He placed the blame partly on the attitude that dancing was a ”slssy" pastime for men and partly on the failure of cluireographers to include in their work good parts for male dancers.

The ballet adjudicator also noted a. tendency of the best dancers in regional companies to gravitate to- wards the professional companies -the National Ballet Company in Toronto and the Winnipeg Ballet Group.
