Mr. Kelvin Blacqulere of North Rustlco and Miss Isabel Mac- Callum of Brackley Point. King and Queen respectively of the 4-H Clubs of P.E. Island, gave a com- prehensive and lucid explanation of the aims and objects of their organization before a representat- ive body of business and profess- .onaI men in Rotary at the weekly luncheon Monday. The mectirg was held at the Charlottetown Hotel and presided over by Bob Parent. chairman of the rural- urban committee with Reg Bell as co-chairman.

Hearts "to greater loyalty, Hands to larger service and Health to better living for Club. Communi- ty and Country." This year Ilie membership throughout Canada stands at 73.000 who are celebrat- ing the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the organization.

"King" Blacquiere. who was the first speaker. pointed out that the prevailing impression that 4-H Clubs were a boys organization was far from correct. There are now 36.000 active girl members who take part in 18 projects, from home economics and sewing. to stock raising and gardening. At the Royal Winter Fair this year. scar- cely a day passed without a club member winning honours.

While 4-H clubs really date back in 1912. it was not until 1924 when trips to the Royal Winter Fair were awarded to winners at Rural Youth Fairs in each province. that the organization began vigorously to pursue club activities. Now more than 100 boys and girls represent

She des- cribed the organization and its con- tact with the various Provincial Departments dealing with Agri- culture. She told of the inner work- ings of the clubs and how parlia- mentary procedure was followed at meetings.

There passed away at the Peter Bent Bringham Hospital, Boston. Mass. on November 15, 1955 James Frederick Henderson in his sixt- ieth year. formerly of Charlotte- town. P. E. l. The deceased has been ill for the past year but in spite of the best medical help he failed to recover.

He leaves to mourn besides his widow. formerly Beatrice Whitlock of Charlottetown. P. E. l., two sons Capt. Roger Henderson. Woodstock, N.B. and Warren of Charlottetown. also one brother Joseph, Charlotte- town, and two sisters. Mrs. Colin Love Borden, P. E. l- and Mrs. Florence Ouchard. Wooclstock, NB. The funeral services were held from the MacLean Funeral Home on November 19 by Brigadier Mar- tin of the Salvation Army.
