Tue Convent Tea.—The largest aad most respectable assemblage which it has been our good fortune to witness for some time past patronizing a Tea was that at the Convent in this city on the evening of Mon. day, the 25th inst. The Tea, itself, we need not describe any further than by says ing that it was excellent in every particu. lar, During the evening. those present amused themselves by a continuous pro- menade along the spacious aisles, purposely arranged on each side of the central range of tables. The Hall resechoed with alters nations of very fine vocal and instrumental music, over which the ladies of the Convent presided, and to which St. Dunstan’s Col- Among the sing~ ers, Messrs. Blanchard and Hamilton, of the College, and the Misses Julia Hamilton, Agnes Walsh, Ada McLean and Henrietta Green, of the Convent, distinguished them- selves, Not the least interesting feature of the entertainment, was the inimitable manner in which A. MeNeill, Esq., coaxed the dollars from their receptacles while auctioning the cake. The ladies of the Convent gratefully acknowledge the ser- vices of those who so gracefully presided at the tables. They also tender their thanks to those who so kindly pasronized them on the occasion, among whom were represents ed the various religious denominations in

the city. The proceedings terminated at 11 p.m., with the rendering of the National Anthem The amount realized was

$381.67.

PrReEsENTATIONS.—The Very Reverend Dr. MeDonald, V.G., was presented, on the eve of his departure for Europe, with ads dresses and two purses of gold,—one of $800 on behalf of the parishioners, and a special one of $40 on behalf of the young men composing the Amateur Dramatic Club.
