Dear Members:- l I am sure that we have all been roused and thrilled at the recent ,action of the Temperance Federa- ktion, when they assembled in ilarge numbers, at short notlcc. from all parts of the Island. and .went, through very bad weather and walking, in a mass gathering to the Provincial Legislature, to protest against a proposed amend- ment to the Prohibition Law. This amendment proposed to give to an lindeiinite number of officials, as lwell as the doctors, the privilege of] ;selllng scrips for intoxicating li- quors. and would have practicall amounted to Government Contro. In the vote that followed, the amendment largely we believe through their representations, was lost, much to our relief.
