the beginning of the semester only one society on our cam- pus has risen to prominence at an astounding rate. Do you know which one? Give up? Yes, that’s correct — mone other than the His- tory Society! That group of so-called deadbeats who bury themselves in the past only took two months to be- come second best... how long do you. think it will take us to become # one? We are already making HIS- TORY. Needless to say all this rhetoric and vanity has paid off for us.

Thanks to all five (5) En- glish Society members who materialized on Sunday for the volley (folly) ball game. Needless to say,, we massa- cred our competition. We look forward to playing you (ha-ha) again!

D-Day, the sixth of June. Canadian soldiers land at Normandy. beaches from RCN landing craft in operation “Overlord.” The 3rd Canadian Infantry Division and .the 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade took part in the assault in the Caen sector.

made us reflect upon what freedoms we daily enjoy and daily take for granted. Lest we forget about our sacrifices made on our behalf and may we ever prove worthy of all the freedoms we have inher- ited.
