Dear Friends,
As the co-ordinator of this year's student di— rectory, I'd like to tell you how this project was undertaken. The plan was laid out late last sunner and was carried out by the Chinese Student's Associ-.- ation. Information was collected on registration days early in September and was sorted in alpha- 4”» betical order in mid-Se- ptember and was ready at that titre to be sent to the printers. However, the Student Union didn't have enough funds for the printing job. It was not until early November that the project was brought up in the Student Council Meeting and that it was decided to have it done in an inexpensive way. So the information was pass- ed over to the steno pool for typing and was later laid out by the Cadre st- aff and then was finally printed.
In any case, I'd like to express my hearty flunms_to thexmmters of the Chinese Student's So- ciety for their big eff- ort, to the Steno Pool who helped in the typing, to those working on the Cadre who gave a hand in the layout , and to those who have been so much co-s ncerned about the project. Lastly, I do hope that this directory will be of good use to all of you,at least in the second half of the year.

As the conference progressed, the Cadre's two most pressing problems became eminant;lack of ' staff being the most im— portant. Many papers at the conference had more delegates then the Cadre has staff! This is a serious reflection of the indifferent attitude of UPEI students. Our second major problem is finance, the Cadre has the smallest budget in CUP even though it is not the smallest member (in terms of univ- ersity enrollment). The Cadre is expected to pub—

We are planning to hold the conference at the Atlantic Chris- tian Training Center in Tatamagouche, N.S. on the week-end of Jan.19-21, 1973oThe theme of the week-end will be community in its various aspects. We are hoping to get a couple of really good resource people in for the week-e i and so ,hopefhlly, it will be very interest ing and informative. 1'11 certain. that «m 'will all grow from the things that we will be discussing on the week-end.
The Conference will get under way on v Friday evening. with registration being held from 5 to 8 pm. From" then on in until early Sunday afternoon we have a full agenda of events, workshops.etc.
The area around the center is rich in facilities and 80 per- haps you would be well advised to bring along your skates. a sleeping bag and a toboggan if you have one. You will have some free time and you will be able to put such things to good use.
The cbst of the week-end will be$20.00 This includes every- thing. Due to limited Space we are asking you to pre-register.
If we find that there r are more people planning to come than the place, holds, we will then make the necessary adjustments. Preference will be given to those who have pre-registered.
