The general account tor the year herewith submitted shows the cash suh- scriptions for the year tor the mainten- ance of ithe Institution to be $953 75.

But the trustees are satisfied that the balance required to finish and equip a hospital suitable to | the present requirements of our people will be forthcoming on demand being made for it, as, up to the present time almost the whole amount subscribed has come from residents of the city.

The subscription list at present amounts to the sum of $10,706. Tenders for the new building will be advertised for in a few days.

The matron and nurses continue to give every satisfaction inthe discbarge of their duties. On the removal from the Island of Mr J Pitblado. one of our trustees, His Honor, Mr Justice Fi'z- gerald, was elected vy the Board to fill his place.
