Mac- Leod led~ a party of 10 men to the assistance of the trapped crew taklm his seine boat along the in- side ‘of New London sand-hills and transporting her to the outside shore at Cavendish to the scene of the wreck. The men were rescued at the height of the gale. his bILlV- erv and that of the men were ack- nowledged bv the Dominion Gov- ernment. He was a mun of splendid physique and held his fine appear- once to the last. Honorable. soc- iable. n. favorite with young and old. blessed with a retentive mem- ory his knowl of world affairs and o. rams in-tel ence he loved to live the old days over talk of the sea and s when- ever he fowld congenial company.
