The following Fire. Preventio ment has been issued by Provincial Fire Marshal, D.H. Coffin, by Dominion Proclama- tion the week of October 9-15 is designated ‘Fire Prevention Week’. This proclamation made in the name of Queen Elizabeth of Canada, is an imperative re- minder of the control of fire and its ‘hazards, and appeals -to ‘all citizens to impress in _ their minds the importance of protect- ; ing life, property and natural re- sources from loss by fire. ‘ The Fire Marshal has (pened: : the following figures: Number of fires in 1965— 125 with a property loss of $829,417. ‘Number of, fires in 1964— 364— with a property loss of $490,172.
