We can see no good reason why people should object to being fingcrprinted. One reason always advanced is that the process is associated with criminals and de- cent people should not be made to subrnit to iii. But that is too thin. Having onc's fingerprints taken and placed on record is just as sensible as putting a name on a vollse so it can be identified. If authorities are sure it would help in dealing with crime then people should be willing to line up and leave their fingerprints whenever asked to do so. We can think of no good reason for objecting and it is possible, to name several good
